Support for Partners During Terminal Illness
There are many resources out there for people living with terminal illness. Finding answers can bring confidence, but discovering more can also cause stress and overwhelm for their partners and spouses. Your partner may be well supported by medical and professional teams, but what you need during anticipatory grief might be different.
We've collected a range of resources below which we think offer useful advice and guidance for partners during a life-limiting illness. Although we can't list them all, we've used our experience to select what worked for us.

Find Your People
You don't have to fight your way through this alone. These resources have been chosen by people who've lives have been shaped by a life-limiting illness. We encourage you to try to find your people, in the many online communities and specialist groups which exist to offer support and connection for your unique situation.
Real-world, in-person conversations are crucial throughout grief. In the UK, funding for support varies by illness and region. General awareness of the challenges and availability of charitable help for partners and patients therefore also varies. The reality is that most families have to ask for what they need. The best path for you is the one which feels supportive to you. Don't be afraid to ask for help from your GP or local health service, because they will probably know of others who've been through this locally.
Trust your own pace, as much as possible. We wish you courage and strength as you move forwards.
